School transport, run for the people who use it.

EasyBus was founded in 2008 in response to new tendering and compliance requirements from the Ministry of Education. Schools and bus operators needed independent guidance to make the most of government school transport — and they still do.

Everything school transport needs.

Schools work with EasyBus to look after every part of their bus service — from route design to family communication.

Route design & optimisation
Electronic mapping of routes and student locations. Re-designed and re-priced regularly as the school roll changes.
Tendering & contracts
We run open tenders for bus operator services and manage the resulting contracts on behalf of the network.
Operator performance
Ongoing performance management: reliability, vehicle condition, driver quality, complaint handling.
Family registration & comms
Online registration, route info, real-time service alerts and news, electronic bus passes.
Health & safety
Active management of safety risks at the network level — stops, road conditions, vehicles, drivers, students.
Funding & finance
Independent review of MoE funding decisions and advice on how to make the network financially sustainable.

Built by someone who built the rules.

Managing Director
Greig Neilson

Before founding EasyBus, Greig spent five years as a senior Ministry of Education official directing the School Transport Work Programme. He helped design the rules that govern how school transport runs in New Zealand today.

That background gives EasyBus a comprehensive understanding of school transport operations and established relationships throughout the education and transport sectors — which is what lets us deliver real outcomes for school communities.
